NEW DELHI: Few days ago we saw smartphone tipster Evan Blass posting a render image of the upcoming Huawei Mate 10 Pro phablet. Now, the device has been spotted in real life and has been captured in a couple of images. The leak comes from Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website.
The user has not just posted the images showing the front and back panel of the Mate 10 Pro but has also revealed a couple of specifications as well. It has been mentioned that the phablet will come with f/1.6 aperture for both its rear cameras. The design also re-confirms what was posted by Blass.
The dual rear cameras at the back are placed vertically at the centre just above the fingerprint sensor. The handset is also seen with a glossy back panel, which means it may attract more fingerprints and smudges than before. The overall design however, corroborated with the one shared by Blass.
Previous rumours have pointed out that the Mate 10 Pro could come in three colour variants – Black, Blue and Brown. It is also said to have a 5.9-inch AMOLED QHD+ screen and support a Samsung DEX-like functionality.
Huawei Mate 10 is scheduled to launch on October 16 at Munich, Germany. Preliminary reports have claimed the device to sport a 12 and 20 megapixel rear dual camera setup along with an 8MP front-facing camera. It is supposed to come powered by the Kirin 970 processor and a 4000mh battery.
Huawei is believed to introduce three Mate 10 variants – Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Lite.
The Chinese tech firm is betting big on its flagship phablet and has also placed it against the iPhone handsets in the past. Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu, in an interview to Bloomberg earlier this year, said that the Mate 10 will give tough competition to Apple’s new iPhone models (iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8).
Yu said that the Mate 10’s improved charging speed, cameras and other features will make it a worthy contender to compete with the upcoming iPhone. “We will have an even more powerful product. The Mate 10, which has much longer battery life with a full-screen display, quicker changing speed, better-photographing capability and many other features that will help us compete with Apple,” he was quoted saying.
